A meeting of the Pine Tree Square and Compass Club was held at the home of Carleton Sanborn with 4 members present. The meeting was called to order by the Chairperson Chester Davis Jr. at 19:10 hours.
The Secretary’s report was read for the May monthly meeting and was accepted as read.
The Treasurer’s report was read.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Clean-up was brought up again. We tabled the discussion as the Master was not present at this meeting.
2. A raffle of Harry Potter series was discussed again. We agreed to hold a one day raffle at the RiverFest. Peter Danforth is supposed to get us the dates of this event.
3. The Chips program was another topic of discussion. Chellis brought up the point that he feels we should do the Chips program at the RiverFest but have it as a District wide event. This way we would not depend on any organization outside of the Masonic Fraternity for help in this event. Chellis will contact Harland Hitchings for information on this topic.
4. Chester did not have any further information regarding the cost and availability of the grave markers and flags as the Secretary of his other Lodge was not present at the previous meeting with the information.
5. The cash deposit was discussed at great length. Treasurer Bob Miles reported there was a mix up when he went to the bank, resulting in money not being placed into the proper account. Also there was a discrepancy in the balance of the account. Chester and Bob will go to the bank and straighten the accounts out.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Ronnie Dow and Lance Sanborn were voted on and accepted into the club.
2. The sign for the Lodge was discussed. Ronnie Dow, Wayne Jackson and Chester Davis will hold a meeting to further the plans on this project. Once the design is finalized, Chester will talk with the planning commissioner to make certain the sign will comply with city ordinances.
3. To coincide with the raffle we are scheduling for RiverFest, it has been suggested we sell hot dogs and soda to raise money. Chester will check on the hot dog wagon at HyWay Service.
4. The club representatives are Chester Davis and Carleton Sanborn. They will attend meetings with the Star in the East Lodge and the Star when items need to be discussed like the kitchen project.
5. Carleton stated he has not received a bill yet from the lawyer Ray Bradford who takes care of our incorporation paperwork filing. We still owe Ray for the latest update and he never charged us for the original filing of the incorporation papers.
6. The next meeting will be September 1 at Stan Fish IV’s residence.
Meeting adjourned at 20:30 hours.
Respectfully Submitted
Carleton C. Sanborn, Secretary
