Kitchen Committee Meeting
January 19, 2006
A meeting of the Kitchen committee was held at the Lodge hall on this date with 4 members present of the 7 total members.
The public breakfast that was to be held once a month as proposed by the Pine Tree Square & Club was the main topic of discussion for the evening.
The breakfast is to start in March of 2006, the exact time and date has not been set.
It was asked to have 6 members/volunteers from each of the 3 groups to work the breakfast. This would allow for 2 people from each group to work 1 breakfast each on a 3 month rotating schedule.
It was also proposed to hold the breakfast for a period of 6 months to see if a clientele would build for the event.
All proceeds will be earmarked for the reconstruction of the kitchen and new kitchen equipment.
A proposal by Mary Jane Marquis was made to have a joint checking account between the AREME Club and the Pine Tree Square & Compass Club for the proceeds from this project to be deposited into. This will be a dedicated fund and will not be used for any other purpose other than the kitchen project.
Advertising was discussed for this project. Posters will be placed in local business, Ad’s in The Penobscot Times and the Weekly Shopper. It was also felt that announcements might be made in the local churches.
All cost for the start up of this breakfast will be the responsibility of the Pine Tree Square & Compass Club.
