                               SECRETARY MONTHLY REPORT

September 1, 2005

A meeting of the Pine Tree Square and Compass Club was held at the home of Stan Fish IV with six members present. The meeting was called to order by the Chairperson Chester Davis Jr. at 19:00 hours.

The following members were present: Chester Davis, Chellis Sanborn, Robert Miles, Stan Fish IV, Peter Bosse, and Carleton Sanborn.

The Secretary’s report was read for the June monthly meeting and was accepted as read.

The Treasurer’s report was read.

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. Riverfest was discussed. We all agreed that we need to have help with the Chips program and need as many members there as possible. Two members present stated they have weddings on that day and will be unable to help with the program. Hot dogs and drinks will not be sold due to lack of help.

  1. The raffle of the Harry Potter books was brought up. Chester stated he has downloaded some pictures from the internet and will print them up. Also he plans on purchasing two posters and mounting them to the back of foam poster board to attract people to buy tickets.

  1. The sign project is almost complete. Chester will add the roof and dirt is still needed to complete the project. Flowers will be added next year as the cold weather is almost with us now.

  1. A meeting with the Star, the club and the lodge will be held on Monday evening to discuss the kitchen problems. Chester and Carleton will represent the club and Peter Danforth and Brian Stoyell will represent the lodge.

  1. The bill from the lawyer has not shown up yet. It was decided that maybe it may never arrive and it may be a donation to us from the lawyer.

NEW BUSINESS:

1.      The Key club will help us with the Chips program once again this year. Chellis will follow up with Paul Stoyell on this matter.

2.      Fundraisers were brought up. We have several possibilities, they are:

A.    Breakfast once per month

B.     Supper for All degrees

C.     Desert night

D.    Shirts with a square and compass for sale

E.     Music night

Members will think of other ideas for next month.

3.      The treasurer’s report was read and accepted.
