Attendees: Bill Reese, Robert Miles, Chester Davis Jr., Mark Libby, Chad Smith
The third meeting of the by-laws committee met at Star in the East Lodge #60 at 7 pm.
The following changes or additions were recommended at tonight’s meeting to the revised bylaws:
· Article II Section I Add appointing a Historian, remove double signature required by Master and Treasurer
· Article V Section V add initials bylaw book next to signature at following stated meeting after reviewing bylaws ( means new member has read bylaws and had them explained to them by a more senior member, and now understands the bylaws)
· List duties of officers rather than have them in run-on sentence (like Secretaries currently is).
· Add Article XI Constitution…These bylaws are to be used in conjunction with the Constitution of the Grand Lodge of Maine and in no way should supersede the Constitution.
· Honorary Membership…use Rising Virtues…change unanimous vote to majority vote.
· Article IX Life Membership … Use SITE’s Age 75 and 30 years service with the vote of the Lodge proposed at the previous meeting. Member pays Grand Lodge assessments
